Arena League R1, Battle of Enfield A 5th place finish was a fair result and was a good return for all the effort expended by the Shiverers team. London division one is full of "fast" teams from E.g. Ipswich, Hatfield, Watford and Camden Swiss. For Shiverers too compete against, and even win in some events is brilliant. There were solid performances again from boys 10/11 years Joel Thomspon and Aidan Cannon, with 3rd places. Jack Boreham (13 years) weighed in with a gutsy performance for a 2nd in the 100m fly, as did Karen Chan (3rd 100m back) who was making her debut for Shiverers along with Alex Cranford. The breaststroke rivalry between 13 year olds Florence Margaroli "Flo Jo" and Harry "H" Burnell continued. Flo grabbed a 2nd place, whilst "H" swam to the only 1st place for Shiverers on the night, in the 100m breaststroke. There were numerous personal best times (the Arena league, formely Speedo, brings it out), Sophie Quach had a "wow" moment in the 100m butterfly, amongst others. Well done team! |
